This is a truly superb and extremely rare pair of antique French Angels from the beginning of the 1800's. Created with an exceptional attention to detail these exquisite angels originate from the French Empire period which is known for its sumptous neoclassical elegance. The angels are opulent in their beauty and elegance. Created from gilded bronze with masterful artistry and craftsmanship, both are adorned with a flower garland and depicted in a sitting position while holding a large feather. Their wings are open. Considering that they are about 200 years old they are in a great antique condition with minor signs of ageing which in my opinion only bring forth their true beauty and splendour today. They are exactly as I discovered them recently in Avignon, in the South of France. For the full condition please refer to the images!
