Gathering moss: Rediscovered photos of the Rolling Stones
One of the contributing photographers to the DC Photography series here on the DC website, is Gered Mankowitz. Gered is the brother of Danny Mankowitz, the curator of DC Photography and their father was Oscar-winning writer Wolf Mankowitz.
In November The Independent newspaper did an article on Gered's new photobook, Goin’ Home with the Rolling Stones ’66. It explores how Gered, at the age of just 18, became a photographer for the band and created a series of relaxed portraits of each at their respective homes.
Scroll through the pictures to read the article and click here to view Gered's limited edition prints available on the Decorative Collective (some included in the article). You can purchase the book at various retail outlets and online and we have provided a link to publisher Reel Art Press website where you can purchase the book. It makes a great read and a perfect gift, and buying one of Gered's limited edition prints here would be a lovely addition to the book if giving as a gift.
