Item Description

A superb early nineteenth century mirrored back Empire period neoclassical console table in original old paint with parcel gilt wood decoration with a wonderful Brescia Violette veneered marble top above a gilt decorated frieze the back with gently foxed mercury backed mirror plate flanked by gilt framed foliate panels with oval paterae and supported on tapering supports with large gilt wood female caryatids on faux marble plinths.

A later paint finish has been carefully removed to reveal the original

38.75” or 99 cm high
47.25” or 120 cm wide
16.25” or 41 cm deep

This would have a mirror above but due to height restrictions it is listed separately although they would work well together on opposing sides of a room or reception area
