Pair of Model AP-19 Papa Bear Chairs by Hans J. Wegner for A.P. Stolen, 1950's.

The Papa Bear chair is one of Wegner's most iconic and popular designs. These chairs were produced by A.P. Stolen in Denmark in the 1950's. This have beautiful oak legs and 'paws' they have been upholstered in a white wool.

A beautiful & iconic pair of chairs chair which would look superb in any home and be a great investment purchase.

About the designer:
Hans Jørgensen Wegner (April 2, 1914 - January 26, 2007) was a Danish furniture designer.

His work, along with a concerted effort from several of his manufacturers, contributed to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design.

His style is often described as Organic Functionality, a Modernist with emphasis on functionality.

Wegner has been referred to as the "King of Chairs" for his proliferated work designing seating and is one of the most iconic designers of the 20th century. In his lifetime he designed over 500 different chairs, over 100 of which were put into mass production and many of which have become recognizable design icons.
