1930s Sweets & Tobacco Advertising Sign.

A rare and large rectangular oak “sweets & tobacco advertising sign with its original paint, the lettering has applied glass reflective eyes which illuminates with light, all the glass eyes are intact none missing, the sign still retains its makers label ” MUR-RAY Signs Ltd, Fallowfields, Manchester Patent No 194034.

Richard Hollins Mur-ray first patent registered the idea of reflective glass eyes for advertising signs & road signage in 1927.

In untouched condition.

Blighty Antiques specializes in English and Colonial pieces with eccentric mix of decorative country house antiques.  Andrew travels throughout UK and Europe to handpick each item for the shop, he also takes the time to source specific items for private clients. It is always worth popping into the shop as it has an incredibly high-turnover of stock and some items sell before they even get the chance to upload them onto their own or the DC the website.

Blighty works in collaboration with top interior designers from around the world and has an excellent reputation for it's consultancy and acquisition of statement antique pieces.  Blighty also has it's own in-house interior stylist who can enhance your home with the special Blighty touch.  Working in close consultation with you, their stylist can offer you a bespoke service by developing your own ideas, assist with choice and offer advice.  Blighty has worked on a diverse range of projects including country houses to townhouses and city apartments through to hotels, restaurants, pubs, offices and retail space.
