Item Description
A set of nine Chinese floral paintings on pith paper, early 19th Century, depicting exotic flowers and insects, later framed and glazed, each 32 x 43cm overall.
This is a most unusual collection, with each picture depicting lively colours, that display remarkable quality for their age.
Some of the pictures have slight losses to the corners , and slightly dark mottled edges,commensurate with age and the delicacy of the paper, but this does not detract from their compelling beauty.
They are all exquisitely framed, with subtle pale grey/blue marbled frames, off white card mounts and delicate blue tissue paper surrounds for each painting.
