An Elegant 19thC American Walnut Winged Armchair

A mid 19th Century upholstered armchair of large proportions in Carolean style. American Walnut and American walnut veneer over beech wood frame, close nailed with ceramic wheel casters to the front and back. Believed to be an American chair. Some age related wear to the wood as one might expect, upholstery in fine order, webbing and stuffing tight and plump. Fine scroll arm terminations. Covered in Fadini Borghi fabric and sympathetically restored by Mr Sumbler of Bishops Upholstery, Wiltshire. Fine colour and good depth of seat. Very much a statement chair in its own right, comfortable and elegant with whispers of William & Mary influences too. Originally purchased on the Castle Ashby Estate, Northamptonshire.
