Early 19th.c. Framed Woolwork of Penrhyn Castle.

Delightful early 19th.c. woolwork of Penrhyn castle, the great neo-Norman stately home built for the fabulously wealthy Pennant family in Bangor here in North Wales between 1820-1833. Naive hand worked embroidery showing the castle with a flag flying and a group of stags in the foreground. Titled in the stitching on the bottom edge. Presented behind glass in a broad rosewood veneered frame. Some small areas of damage. Repairs to the frame.
