This rug is an outstanding example of nomadic tribal weaving by the Qashqai tribe.
The rug has three medallions on a dark indigo blue field, each medallion containing the Qashqai tribal emblem. The field is filled with large boteh and flowers. The outer field is in madder red with large floral devices in each corner. Note the small chickens scattered through out the rug, they seem to be pecking at the ground.
The rug was very soft fine wool and superb dye quality giving glowing colours.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile, the rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
