An original pair of Andrew Handyside Garden Urns

A pair of impressive 19th century cast iron urns from the Handyside Foundry, a Foundry based in Derby that was one of the best of its era, due partly from the skill of the workers, but also because of the quality of the local moulding sand manufacturing. It manufacturing products extended from garden ornaments, bridges to the great British post box! This particular urn is in the illustrated catalogue of the Handyside Foundry of 1880 as number N°1 Small.
This design of the Handyside garden urns are of campana form retaining much of its old paint and has an excellent weathered patina. The body is decorated with a foliate frieze with mask and loop handles. An egg and dart rim on a bell urn.
