Jonzen, Karin Sculpture of Father and Child

Jonzen, Karin. Father and Child in Bronze Resin, circa 1960. Karin Jonzen was born in London of Swedish parents. She studied for four years at the Slade School of Art (1933-37), and a further year at the City and Guilds School at Kennington (1938). Though she spent most of her time at the City and Guilds carving stone, she would later work predominantly in bronze and terracotta. In 1938, she went to Sweden to study at the Royal Academy, Stockholm. There she was told she had ‘produced a style when far too young’. However, it was that very style which distinguished her work and led to her fame. Cast in resin bronze.

Fleet Gallery deals in a high quality works of Art with a focus on 20th century British Figurative and abstract paintings, prints and sculpture.
Our aim is to offer an interesting collection of 20th century British art. We believe that quality and price do not necessarily go hand in hand. There are a group of first class British painters, still relatively unknown and these are shown alongside the more established names.

Fleet Gallery is based in the exciting area of Norman Road, St. Leonard's-on-Sea, in East Sussex. This is a great little area to explore whether looking for art, furniture, or even just popping along to sample the great cafes or restaurants in the area. St. Leonard's on Sea is a thriving area really worth a visit.

Please enjoy our online art gallery or visit us in person and if you would like please feel free to email or give us a call.
