c. 1920s Tabriz carpet

GALLERY YACOU
The north-west Persian city of Tabriz has the longest history of rug weaving in Persia. Antique Tabriz carpets are widely appreciated for their excellent craftsmanship and creativity in their design and use of natural colours.

This handsome Tabriz carpet has creative design characteristics of earlier weavings of the 17th century where each drawing in the field is being cleverly repeated in different shapes and colours, framed by a wide, pale blue border.

This Tabriz carpet is in good condition for everyday use with a thin pile, still retaining its fringes and borders on all sides.

Complimentary shipping.

Gallery Yacou is a family owned business run by Robin Yacoubian and his father, Ezekiel, and has been in the family for over four generations specialising in antique, decorative and contemporary carpets.

We passionately believe in the importance of choosing the right rug for each individual room, and that the rug not only complements the space but adds depth and soul to it.

With our broad depth of knowledge and collective experience, we are able to advise our clients on the various options we have in our collection that would complement the various spaces.

We work with a range of clients including leading interior designers and architects, members of the design industry, hoteliers, private clients and collectors. Some of the projects for which we have provided rugs include grand listed buildings, hotels, embassies, modern city apartments, 17th century abbeys, country houses and residential homes.

We have just recently relocated from our showroom on the Fulham road to our studio/workshop in North London.

We are members of the antique dealers associations, BADA and LAPADA, and an Industry Partner of BIID, the British Insititute of Interior Design, and exhibit annually at the BADA & LAPADA Fairs. Please email us using the enquiry form opposite, if you would like a complimentary ticket to any of these Fairs.
