Victorian Rosewood Foldover Tea Tables

Circa 1860, pair of mid Victorian rosewood fold-over tea tables. With well figured rosewood tops which are hinged and swivel, and a simple moulded edge. When open, the tables retain the original rich dark rosewood colour and there is a small space beneath the tops for storing the cards. At the front, the rosewood apron has a simple beading beneath it. Standing on a column which is turned and tapering at the top with a central carved section, leading on to 4 well carved cabriole legs. They have foliate carving on the knees, c-scrolls at the back and finishing on a neat curled toe with brass casters beneath.
