Antique mirrored/silvered pendant light

HAES ANTIQUES
An antique silvered / mirrored glass light shade probably made by Gecoray (no label). English 1920s/30s. These were made primarily as high quality shop / window display lights. The glass shades are silvered on the outside, then copper plated and finally painted to give long term protection to the silvering. Inevitably over a long time they can tarnish to varying degrees usually in a pleasing way.This one has some ageing and tarnishing of the silver.It is stable (no flaking). Rewired with a cord gripped bronzed brass gallery and lampholder (British made) and 1.25 meters of light grey/white fabric flex)
Dimensions in inches/cms;
8.25"/21cms tall .
9"/22.5cms wide.
I have other antique mirrored light shades available including some unusual STRAND ones.

Edward Haes has been dealing in architectural elements and antiques for the past 20 years, initially sourcing most of his stock from disused public buildings and demolition sites.  Some of his architectural pieces can be found on The Hoarde.

He enjoyed the social history of these places and wishes all his later purchases could have the same perfect provenance.

He continues to buy a diverse range of antiques, with a speciality in lighting, mainly from the UK and sells to dealers, commercial and private clients. He is happy to “tune in” to customers projects and help advise on selecting  the correct pieces.
