Item Description
A Chinese Han Dynasty painted pottery tomb figure of a sleve dancer, 206BC - 220AD, modelled kneeling wearing a long flowing robe with traces of red and white pigment and scars of a fibrous roots system.
Provenance: From a prominent Private Collection, acquired from Art Ancient London, Formerly in the collection of Mr Michael Dennis O'Hara. O'Hara was a prominent numismatist, author and collector who later in life developed a passion for Chinese terracotta art of the Han - Song period. He sought only the finest examples of their type buying during the 1980's.
Note: With a coopy of an Oxford thermoluminescence certificate of authenticity, sample no. C114k75.
