Country House Chaise in the manner of Howard & Son

HAND OF GLORY
An extremely large, good quality Victorian daybed in the manner of Howard & Sons, of chair back form with deep buttoned upholstery, raised on Howard type ring turned mahogany legs with brass castors. Upholstered in a beige chenille fabric with a feint leaf print. It also comes with a loose cover in a Colefax & Fowler Rose pattern chintz glazed cotton.

This is a superb and extremely comfortable daybed, beautifully upholstered and in excellent condition. There is no staining or wear to the fabric.

It is very much in the style of Howard & Son who are considered the pre-eminent manufacturer of upholstered furniture of this period. The style of leg with ring turning and brass castors is almost identical to the style used by Howard (there are variations on the styles) however I cannot find any manufacturers stamps.
