19thC Oil On Canvas - Sleeping Boy With Bugs

HARRINGTON ANTIQUES
A 19th century oil on canvas depicting a boy sleeping on steps with collected bugs escaping from his box and running riot around the room.

The work depicts a charming subject which encourages the viewer to try and spot as many bugs as possible. There is some light craquelure in areas but generally the work remains in a very good condition throughout.

The work is housed in a very attractive substantial giltwood frame which has a maker's label verso for 'J. Tout & Son, Portsea'.

A lovely work of good proportions.

Dimensions (framed):-
