Fisher boy by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux

INGLIS HALL ANTIQUES
Jean Baptiste Carpeaux (French 1827-1875) - A figure of Le Jeune Pecheur A La Coauille (Neopolitan Fisher Boy). The crouching nude with head turned down, holding a conch shell up to his left ear, wearing a cloth cap and with a small fishing net in his lap, on naturalistic canted rectangular moulded integral base. This is a copy of one Carpeaux's well known subjects, this one is composition with many layers of crumbly paint & traces of moss.
