Bernard Rooke ceramic floor lamp, c1960

British Designer, Bernard Rooke Ceramic Floor Lamp. This is a stunning example of great British studio pottery. The lamp also has its original circular frame split bamboo shade which is unusual to survive. The lamp has a very tribal feel almost like a totem pole. There is a pierced central section which has a small bulb which gives a subtle additional light feature when illuminated. This lamp has been re-wired, PAT tested and is certified for UK use.

Bernard Rooke was born in 1938 and studied at Ipswich School of Art before moving to study pottery at Goldsmith`s College, London. In 1960 he set up his own workshop in Forest Hill sharing with another studio pottery artist Alan Wallwork.

Jon Fairweather joined Kiki Design in 2010 bringing with him a wealth of experience from a specialist twentieth century retailer and an eye for the visual from his time spent working in film and television.

Together Sarah and Jon have expanded Kiki Design - opening a shop in Petworth and extending their range of furniture, art and design. Where necessary pieces are sympathetically restored and finished to a fine standard.  Kiki Design has developed a look that encompasses all styles from antique to 20th century. Sarah and Jon passionately believe that a harmonious and timeless interior is achieved by selecting vintage and antique pieces to complement each other.
