19th Century Ebonised and Brass Inlaid Desk

LEE WRIGHT ANTIQUES
Possibly the best quality example of a 19th Century ebonised, brass inlaid desk with its original tooled leather top. Brushing slides on either side of the desk. The top is inlaid with brass and brass mouldings. Fitted with three frieze drawers, and a further three drawers in each pedestal. Unusual, quality locking mechanism. When the top central drawer is locked, this locks all the drawers in the desk. All four corners have round pillars with brass inlaid fluting. Each leg with brass inlaid fluting, finished on brass sabots.

The desk is finished all round, so it is freestanding. A very substantial, heavy desk.

To truly appreciate this important, high quality desk, it needs to be seen in real life.

A rare find!
