19th Century Regency Oak Armchair

An exceptional oak, early 19th Century Regency period, open armchair, in the manner of 'George Bullock', having well-shaped and generous proportions with bronze gilt mounts.

Having carved detail to the scroll back with patterned brass inlay and a horizontal rope twist bar below a padded upper back. The open arms, also padded, have reeded circular supports with anthemion bronze collars, sea scroll carving to the side panels.

The seat has a padded cushion above shapely, carved sabre legs terminating in exceptional leaf foliage cast casters.
