Brooks Motoring Trunk

Brooks Motoring Trunk, by J. B. Brooks and Co. of Birmingham. A two case Rexine covered motoring trunk designed to be carried on either a Rolls Royce or Bentley to keep the cases clean and dry during transit, then on arrival at the destination the two cases can be removed from the case and taken to the motorists rooms. The trunk is complete with a pair of bound carrying handles and beautifully machined nickel plated fixings. The two cases fit the case exactly, however they do differ in the style of the case fastenings, they both open to crisp and clean interiors. Both cases are stamped Brooks. One case is stamped to the interior ‘Office of the Collector of Customs, 18 Feb 1924, Johannesburg’ so this case has been well travelled. Considering the miles this trunk has travelled it is preserved in exceptional condition. British, circa 1910.
