Item Description
This sofa has an elegant rectilinear form in the neoclassical style. The straight back and seat are softened by downswept armrests and uprights.
The whole rests on eight reeded column tapering legs, with classical rosette carvings to the top square sections.
This sofa exhibits wonderful original gilt patina throughout, with hints of the red bole showing through giving it a deep warmth.
The entire frame is adorned with reeded and acanthus details, with mesmerising overall effect.
The back and seat, as well as the partially covered armrests, are covered with a whimsical classical tapestry fabric.
The fabric depicts children playing in a pastoral landscape and extensive floral decoration.
