18th Century Walnut Escritoire Cabinet on Chest

An early 18th Century escritoire cabinet on chest offered in excellent showroom condition.
This rare and impressive item is beautifully made and has a lot on offer.
Stunning walnut colour and patina, with decorative satinwood cross-banding on the front fall and drawer fronts.
This comes in 2 parts for transportation.
The top section has a hinged friese which lifts up to reveal 12 small drawers, inside the fall there are various drawers arranged around a central cupboard with even more smaller drawers inside it! There are 9 pigeon holes along the top which pull out to reveal 12 further secret drawers behind them.
The fall creates a writing surface with a newly fitted black leather inset and gold tooled edging.
With working lock and key.
The base section has 2 short over 2 long drawers, with brass swan neck handles and on bracket feet.
