Inspired by the preparation tables of the Old Kitchen at Burghley House, the Living Island is very much a moveable feast – the free-standing piece can be fully customised to fit the way you cook, eat and live.
Bakers will appreciate the marble slab which makes light work of pastry preparation. Gardeners and disciplined cooks will welcome the attention to detail of a beautifully incorporated scrapings bin set into the oiled English sycamore top. And all those with creative inclinations will enjoy the limitless scope for creating a one-off piece using our library of finishes.
This example measures 3.4 metres long by 1.2 metres wide by 0.9 metres high and has been handmade in ash and copper, with brass accessories. Our Living Island starts at £6550 + vat. The example here is priced at £20,000.
The Living Island is a modular piece and is available in a selection of timbers and finishes – pictured here in ash with a worn ebony finish. Our tan copper finish was used for the low shelf and perished brass was chosen for the accessories. The island may also be made to the required dimensions and may be constructed with the addition of drawers or cupboards.
Originally created as a kitchen island – the piece can also be adapted as a console table for a hallway or reception lobby, a meeting room table or as statement bar furniture.
Made to measure in every way, we work with you to choose the perfect material, configuration and finish for your piece, while retaining the integrity of the original design.
Any of our standard timber, zinc and copper finishes can be achieved. For bespoke finishes please enquire. Handmade and finished in England.
