Two Large Etched Glasses.

Two large Glass Drinking Glasses dating from the 19th Century, with acid-etched vine tendrils and details. The Vendor told us that they we originally used for ceremonially washing each bunch of grapes, before they were served - we, however, are not so sure, and think they might just be the French equivalent of "Topers' Glasses" Very nice condition, and with clear, legible, etching. Price quoted below is per glass. Dimensions are only for the larger glass. One glass measures 19.5cm high X 11cm in diameter at the top: the other measures 20cm high X 12cm at the top.

  • H: 20cm (7.87in)
  • W: 12cm (4.72in)
  • D: 12cm (4.72in)

Stephen and Ines Muir, each now with over thirty five years experience in sourcing, buying and selling quality antiques, had their major business based in London.

We have been based in the well-known antiques town of Tetbury, in the glorious Cotswolds for over ten years now, and are about to celebrate six years in our own shop at Long Street, Tetbury, which showcases our theme of mixing good contemporary design with selected pieces from the 20th Century.  We also sell retro items and English and European antique items.

When we are on a buying trip, we close the shop, so if you are planning a visit to see us specifically, it is best to contact us in advance to make sure we are here.  Normally the shop is open Monday to Saturday, 10am-5.30pm and Sunday, 11am to 5.30pm
