Oil painting by Charles Levier (1920-2003)

Most of Levier’s work was stylistically figurative, a touch of abstraction as with all the School of Paris but otherwise essentially representational. This is an experiment with abstract forms that was being repeated all over the Western art world at the time. Possibly painted for his own pleasure but presumably sold commer cially as it was acquired along with a larger collection of his work in the States. Great fun as abstracts go and certainly wonderfully decorative for a 1950s interior.

It is currently available to view and buy in our Cecil Court Branch in London. If you would like to try it on approval within the M25 please do, otherwise come and visit us in the gallery - we have several hundred of our paintings on display and several thousand in stock!
