Relaxed Day in the Park - Mid 20th Century Impressionist Oil by Peter Gardner

Born in London, Peter studied at Hammersmith School of Art 1935-1938 & 1947-1950 and at the London Institute of Education 1951 & 1971. He was awarded the Art Teachers Diploma an Ac. Dip in Education. He taught art at West Norwood School and became Head of Art at Plaistow Grammar School as well as teaching at Fulham and South Kensington Adult Education Institute. He retired in 1979 and moved from London to Dorset.

This piece created with oil on canvas and is in a wooden gilt frame. Possibly another painting of his on the back.

Simpson Fine Art was established by Eve Simpson in 1998.  Eve has been an art dealer specialising in 20th century British Art for over 40 years.

Initially opening a gallery on Church Street, London (1975) and then a second on Curzon Street, Mayfair, London (1980).  In 1985 she opened a larger premises on Church Street.  In 1998 she opened a gallery in Old Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire in partnership with her husband called Simpson Fine Art.  In 2000 the galleries were sold, semi-retiring, Eve continued dealing from home and at the Decorative Antiques Fair (London) 3 times a year.

She has over 300 works of art from the 20th century.  All her artists are listed.
