17th century French Walnut armoire

This is an exceptional 17th century Walnut French armoire. The size of this piece is spectacular with a great original patina to the finish. Which makes it a talking point in any room. The oversized front feet is what drew me to it originally as I think they give it a real presence. The geometric details to the doors and the ebonised accents to the barely twist supports give the piece a design well ahead of its time. The large drawer at the bottom runs smoothly and the huge key also works easily in the lock. The piece is in very good condition for its age with small nibbles consistent with age and use. It also shows sign of historic woodworm which is to be expected of a piece this age but it has all been treated. The armoire breaks down into three pieces so it isn't too bad to move around. The internal storage is completely open meaning it can be used as a wardrobe or coat closet with the addition of a rail or alternatively it could have shelves added. Both options we can do for you at cost. This is a very impressive piece and I absolutely love it.

My name is Matt Dixon and for as long as I can remember I have had a love for history and design which I find relate very closely.

Since starting up TallBoy Interiors 3 years ago, I have learnt so much about what works together and I find that you can mix modern and classic pieces to create a truly unique design.

I am not afraid to express myself through the items I buy as I believe your home should represent as much about you as the way you dress.  Everyone has their own style and that is what makes this business so interesting.

As trends change, the pieces that appear on the open market change, and that keeps me thinking of how it can work in a design.

I want to provide a service that is totally personal to the client and help them use their imagination to create something unique.
