Item Details

Designed for the festival of Britain in 1953 this sideboard is produced in teak and mahogany with makers label to back. This beautiful piece was designed by David Booth and Judith Ledeboer in 1950 for Gordon Russell. Named after the recently discovered Double Helix strand structure of DNA. V&A hold an example in their permanent collection.

So its safe to say its a bit of a design classic! The quality is superb and overall the condition is very good with only minor marks consistent with age but it shows its age handsomely. The brass door pulls are totally original and it also retains the original interior drawer. It is a mid century piece but it works really well with both traditional and contemporary interiors.
