19th Century Carved wood Indian temple Lion

TALLBOY INTERIORS
This is a superb and extremely rare carved wooden temple lion. Gesso covered with worn painted decoration. Metal forged tail and carved wooden figure as well.Totally original and genuine 19th century. It comes with written provenance in the form of a sales receipt from renowned Asian and Indian art dealer Gordon Reece when he sold this piece to an Art collector from Leeds. The piece is superb scale and would make a statement in a room.
