'The Babworth' kitchen island by TallBoy Interiors

This is another piece added to our furniture range made by an Artisan workshop in Babworth which we have worked on together. The Babworth kitchen island is a piece we designed as an elegant central table for a kitchen that would be an ideal food prep station but also allowing for use as a table to socialise around. For me antiques are wonderful pieces of furniture that would have some stories to tell if they could talk. I see the Babworth being the centre of family gatherings where it will witness all the ups and downs of life while providing a great work space.

This one is made from solid ash with biscuit jointed top to ensure the planks stay closed for food hygiene. It stands on 6 legs and is complete with 2 drawers with brass pulls. The drawers are soft close and come heavy MDF lined to allow for you to put drawer tidies in should you wish. We can make these to order so different sizes, finishes can be altered for example we could paint the base and the timber could be changed but this would be subject to a discussion so please get in touch if you have any questions.

This example has a food safe, water resistant oil finish so it will stand up to all life can throw at it. Please just be mindful that heat such as hot pans will immediately mark the wood so please use trivets and mats where required.

This example is 272cm length 90cm Height depth 101cm height to drawers 57cm

My name is Matt Dixon and for as long as I can remember I have had a love for history and design which I find relate very closely.

Since starting up TallBoy Interiors 3 years ago, I have learnt so much about what works together and I find that you can mix modern and classic pieces to create a truly unique design.

I am not afraid to express myself through the items I buy as I believe your home should represent as much about you as the way you dress.  Everyone has their own style and that is what makes this business so interesting.

As trends change, the pieces that appear on the open market change, and that keeps me thinking of how it can work in a design.

I want to provide a service that is totally personal to the client and help them use their imagination to create something unique.
