Willey Foundry Forms Automotive Molds c.1920

For sale in this LOT is a wonderful set of circa 1920s foundry forms from a disused Willey Foundry factory in Exeter UK. This items would have original been hand crafted by skilled wood craftsman to shape and mould sections of wood to obtain a negative shape, which would then have been cast in sand or clay and filled with metal to obtain a mechanical shape mold. These forms are hand crafted and show a wonderful decorative and sculptural quality, wonderful aged patina and can be displayed as form of industrial art. These types of forms are normally obtained in heavy over painted red, yellow and red. However these forms are in original wood colours which makes these items very decorative and collectable showing the main joints across the wood.

Condition: In overall wonderful condition, there are light scratches to certain pieces of the forms however all objects have been waxed with a natural wax and show a wonderful patina and decorative quality.
