Unique Boot Makers Shop Advertising Sign
We are proud to offer a unique early 20th Century 3-dimensional hand painted bootmakers/cobblers advertising trade sign. Made from old war department wooden board / card panels, painted by hand and supported with a wooden hinge so it can stand up freely. This highly decorative and iconic artefact was originally uncovered in Scotland in the cellar of a closed down retail shoe shop. Featuring Charlie Chaplin in a scene from his famous film “Modern Times”. We believe this advertising piece would have sat in the window of Malcolm Gunston Boot Makers as illustrated across the front of the board.
