Item Description

Early 20th Century Burmese carved table

An exceptionally well hand carved 19th Century Burmese carved table, the top having a wonderfully carved frieze depicting temples, birds, animals, trees and various foliage, as if telling an ancient story, below the top is a profusely carved apron, supported on a carved column terminating on three legs carved as mythical creatures which look like lions. The carving on the whole table is very well executed.

Size in inches: H 30” x W 26” x D 26”
Period: First quarter 20th Century
Material: Wood
Origin: Burma
Condition: Good

Completely solid in structure and form, with a natural patination across the surface. This item has some aged repairs but are unnoticeable and under the frill of the top section. With light aged scratches to the top as you would imagine. Its exceedingly difficult to photograph all the areas in this piece, therefore we strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment.
