Cork Diorama of Avigon c.1880

Circa 1880 Exquisite Cork Carved Diorama of Avigon (France)

For sale in this LOT is a unique and highly collectable a fine tridimensional / diorama cork carving Avigon Bridge in France, trees and ramblers behind glass, with a carved wood frame. All elements of this exquisite decorative diorama are original dating back to 1880, the glass is handmade and shows a thin and thick texture which is shown in the photos provided. The item is highly decorative and very rare in this original condition. The scene looks like a paint from a distance as the detail is so fine.

Size: H 27” x W 30” x D 6” Approx.

Condition: Structurally good, patina to the wood and very light scuffs due to age and use. No break, cracks. The is evident wear and tear to the backing landscape in the form of discolouration and light fading as shown in the photos provided. This item is over 100 years or so expect wear and tear the photos do aim to use this aging and damage however if you require more detailed photos in advance of a purchase please email us directly.

Postage: Global shipping is possible so please view all shipping details as explained below. With item of this fragile nature we always recommend recorded/tracked postage with insurance. This may cost that much more, but at least you are covered from accidents that may take place whilst in transit.

Shipping: At The House of Antiques we aim to ship your purchased item in 2 working days. The item is packed well and shipped via Parcelforce or Royal mail at the buyers cost. We do our upmost to pack items very carefully and send them as we would expect to receive them ourselves. Please take into consideration when buying fragile item that The House of Antiques are not responsible for any breaks or damaged caused whilst the item is in transit. If damage does take place whilst the item is in transit we will aim to seek compensation from the courier and keep the buyer updated with progress made to reimburse the buyer with damage costs, The House of Antiques will not refund the costs of damaged until the courier has resolved the damages claim we have proposed on the buyer behalf. Additional to this we use a few carefully selected couriers in the UK to deliver our most fragile or larger item. The courier option is applied at the buyers cost and varies between £60 to £80 dependent upon your UK location, so please get in touch with us directly for further information.
