Mr. Bear

The Folk-art Mr. Bear
We are proud to offer a wonderful example of a mid-20th Century folk-art figure of a charming bear. Made from a light wood hand carved body, sheet metal legs, arms, head, and tail. Stood on a purpose carved wooden plinth this figure is really a character filled, friendly and overall fun piece of art. Aged rust and patination can been seen across all the surface areas, the wood has a natural aged patination and wear which leads us to believe this figure was made in the early to mid-20th Century. Its amazing how the simplest things in life make us smile, without doubt MR. bear is a prime example of that.

It’s quite simple. We buy what we like. We believe that extraordinary items are owned by extraordinary people who live in extraordinary spaces. We are driven by the passion to unearth and offer the most unusual, decorative and rarest objects.

Our house style is probably best described as artistic, theatrical and, even macabre.

We often get asked by our clients, “Where did you find that?” The answer is always the same. Look hard enough and you will find what you seek.
