Mr. Pickwick

THE HOUSE OF ANTIQUES
Mid-20th Century Charles Dickens Museum Automaton Figure
Recently obtained from the Charles Dickens museum in Kent UK that closed. This fully working automaton figure is characteristic of Mr. Pickwick. A sunny and kind man with 'a bald head and circular spectacles', the rotund Pickwick dresses in 'tights and gaiters', and modestly describes himself as 'an observer of human nature'. Despite being forced to confront the darker side of life during his journeys, he remains true to his principles. This automaton figure is still fully operational and is powered by a UK 240V. The figure moves his head from side-to-side, Made from a Ruberoid material and hand-crafted cotton and silk clothes with synthetic hair and brass glasses. A lovely quirky figure and complete one off.
