W. & A.K. Johnston was a prominent map publishing house of the 19th century. Brothers William Johnston (1802–1888) and Alexander Keith Johnston (1804–1871) founded the firm in 1826. The former became Lord Provost of Edinburgh and was knighted, the latter became Geographer-Royal for Scotland.
