An Early Victorian Painted Royal Coat of Arms

THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL
A large and impressive early Victorian oil on canvas Royal Coat of Arms, housed in a later yet period softwood carved and gesso frame.

The typical image shows a lion and unicorn, centred with the British monarch crest and underneath bearing the latin inscription DIEU ET MON DROIT.

The painting has been later restretched and lined with age related surface wear and craquelure.

Measurements at frame, 139cm/114cm and 5.5cm in depth
