Blue Ground 19th Century Sorcerers Mirror

THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL
A decorative and large sorcerers mirror, with seven reverse ground optics on a blue glass ground. The mirror plate has age related oxidising and pitting, the frame is oak with a tropical faux hand painted finish. The ribbon has been added for decoration and has a small cooper hoop for hanging. Sorcerer mirrors were a early 16th century design, used to throw light around via the convex optics this giving them supposable magical powers hence the name. Circa 1820 in age.
