"Jane Scrimshaw Aged 127", Oil on Board

A unusual oil on board of Jane Scrimshaw mid 19th century. The image is taken from John Faber Sr lithograph 1710

the reverse reads we think.........
Jane Scrimshaw was born during the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1584 and died during the reign of Queen Anne 1711, at the age of 127.
She never marriage and when little more than 40 years of age she found a comfortable home in merchants Taylor Alm house, little tower hill.
There she spent 80 years of her long life and her death is supposed to have been hastened if not actually caused by her removable form the Alm house

Six splits in the gilt oval frame and a large section of the bottom section is missing as shown in the photo but the frame is very stable.
