This gallery wall of owls consists of 1 Nozeman 1 Martinet and 1 Paillou engraving together with 5 Von Wright and 1 Captain Brown lithographs.

- The Nozeman engraving is a rare copperplate engraving from “Nederlandsche Vogelen “ by Cornelius Nozeman and Christiaan Sepp published in Amsterdam from 1770. Hand coloured at the time of publication. These engravings rank among the most beautiful and sought after engravings ever produced.

- The Paillou engraving was engraved by Johann Jacob Haid and sons from the book by Thomas Tennant - Vögel , one of the rarest and most impressive books of birds ever published in Germany.1771-1778

- The Martinet engraving is a beautiful hand coloured copper plate engraving from '1770- 1786 Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux' Paris Imprimerie Royale by Le Comte de Buffon Georges- Louis Marie Leclerc.
The engravings are by Francois Nicholas Martinet (1725-1804) the foremost bird artist of the period, engraver and artist to the French Court.

-The 5 Von Wright owls are by the Finnish artists Magnus von Wright (1805 - 1868) and Wilhelm von Wright (1810 - 1887) who were well known in the 1800s as both artists and ornithologists. They captured details and colours not previously seen. These colourful chromolithographs were produced around 1920 by the Swedish lithographer A. Bortzells of Stockholm.

-The Hawk owl is hand coloured and is from the very rare First Edition of Captain Brown’s very scarce Illustrations of the Genera of Birds published in 1846.

These beautiful engravings are presented in complimentary frames which support AR70 glass which provides some protection against the damaging effect of sunlight and cuts reflection so that the image quality is vivid and uninhibited.
