18th century Italian walnut two drawer commode

TOM SCOTT ANTIQUES
Very elegant and beautifully proportioned 18th century Italian two drawer commode chest of drawers in walnut and fruitwood, circa 1760 and in lovely original condition.
This commode has a simplicity to it with its straight lines, but is also beautifully made using straight grained walnut and fruitwood to give the contrasting tones and also the end grain walnut to the edge of the top.
The interior of the chest is classic of the period and made from fabulous broad chestnut planks with the boards running front to back in the drawers. Both drawers run smoothly and they are also very clean, so no worries with using this commode for clothes storage.
Certainly a decorative piece of furniture, but also a refined style so it will sit alongside other furniture and also I can see this being used in a living room situation as a feature piece.
Great colour too, just fabulous!
