Antique Scottish Wash Basins

A very rare Scottish wash basin with under-mounted porcelain plunger basin and nickel plated taps. Italian Carrara marble surface and splash-back. Mahogany veneered base standing on eight turned legs. Individually these wash stands are quite rare. We haven’t seen any of this particular model before.

We were very lucky to be able to source six matching units (3 units have sold, there are 3 left), all from a Scottish Country House. A genuine once in a life time opportunity if you are looking for a series of matching units. The taps are included, however we have a range of other brass or nickel tap options available. Please ask for more details. Price is per unit. Fully restored, with various tap options to suit. The drawers open and close, there are locks present, but no keys. The middle drawer is a dummy draw. The plunger basin is under-mounted, made of porcelain. There are no cracks or breaks to the basin. Circa 1925.

A little piece of our history:

History, telling the stories of the past and letting them live again in the future, is core to everything we do at UK Heritage. So let us also share with you a little piece of own history.

We've been buying and selling architectural heritage pieces since the grand old year of... 2006.  yes we may seem relatively young in the world of antiques, but thanks to our dedicated and experienced team our knowledge knows no bounds.

Our business was founded by Ben Couchman, a man dedicated to learning about the history of every piece he comes across. He knows a thing or two about architectural antiques, and can often be found scouring the UK and Europe to uncover decorative or functional architectural treasures that deserve their chance to shine again.

Our home in Herfordshire:

Our impressive rural site in Herefordshire is currently home to over 2000 antiques. Arranged around a courtyard, it includes an 18th Century barn as well as three large, modern warehouses. It only takes a quick walk around some of our dedicated showrooms to almost feel each piece jumping out at you, begging to share their stories and add to yours.

Our philosophy:

Sustainability and ethical responsibility are the buzzwords of today and while it's easy to say this is a priority, it is often a little more difficult to prove. However, our business model relies on both.

We don't buy or create new. We reuse, recycle and give architectural antiques that were once destined for landfill an opportunity to continue creating history. Everything is antique and unique. We also do not sell items that contain ivory or that are dangerous to health or the environment.

Who we work with:

In our time we've supplied a little piece of history to interior designers, architects, retailers and private clients across the world. Our list of previous customers is quite impressive too, having worked with Cambridge and Oxford Universities, Claridge's and Warner Brothers, to name just a few.
