Item Description

An elegant early 19th Century elliptical Fleur de Pêcher and Carrara marble fire surround. This antique marble fireplace is elliptic in shape, including the side returns, frieze and shelf, synonymous with classical French and Empire styling. Over 200 years old, it dates back to circa 1820. The contrast of marbles is beautiful, making a stunning feature in any room seeking grandeur and opulence.

Fleur de Pêcher Marble

Associated with opulent French interiors of times gone by, Fleur de Pêcher marble is a breche marble comprising of irregular shades of purple, pink and red. During the 19th century, it was used to create exceptional works of art including the magnificent fireplace in the main hall of the Napoleon III apartments of the Louvre museum.
