A Fine George III Library Breakfront Bookcase

VAGABOND
A Fine George III Library Bookcase. England, Circa 1790. Provenance – Wood Dalling Hall, Norfolk. A fine George III breakfront mahogany bookcase, well drawn with a low waist giving height to the doors and the exceptional patterned glazing, the glass is original which gives a wonderful wave like effect when viewing from different angles, we have photographed with just the fixed shelf as although these bookcases were of course designed to hold books the height and capacity of this model gives options to display different objects, sculpture or works of art, we have all the original inter-changeable shelves, locks and keys.

We have re-upholstered the removable back panels in a marine blue velvet, this is a simple change that can be done by us in a fabric of your choice or can be changed to suit the colour palette of any room. A fine example of fine 18th Century English cabinet work with good provenance.

National and worldwide shipping available, please enquire for a quotation.

Vagabond Antiques was founded by Joe Chaffer in 2015.  From an early age Joe was surrounded by his mothers love for all things antique, with her being an antiques dealer for 30 years, Joe certainly has antique dealing in his blood.

After a 15 year career in London with various Men's fashion brands and after taking the lead on multiple projects which incorporated using antique items to create bespoke shop-fit's for menswear concessions, Joe really got the taste for using decorative antiques to create unique interiors.

Joe's focus is now solely on finding beautiful and intriguing items for the home and garden.

Vagabond opened it's first shop in July 2017 in Fittleworth Village, West Sussex, just a 5 minute drive from the well established 'antique' market town of Petworth and close to the historic town of Arundel.

Vagabond Antiques is open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm and other times by appointment.
