An 18thC ebony, tortoiseshell and boxwood crucifix

W.J. GRAVENER ANTIQUES
An early 18th Century Flemish ebony and tortoiseshell crucifix with a well observed boxwood Corpus Christi above which is the inscription INRI (Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum) . 890mm high, 250mm wide and 140mm deep. Circa 1720.

N.B. The condition is original and very good commensurate with age, there a couple of small pieces of bone line inlay missing, the back two feet are later additions, the front four are all original. Some tortoiseshell needs relaying and some fingertips need replacing. Sensitive conservation will be undertaken as soon as time permits.
