A striking collection of eight original Mid-Century Modern Italian design studies by Anfossi, executed in watercolour and ink on paper.


Each composition captures the optimism and elegance of post-war interior design, depicting furniture, lighting, architectural features and stylish domestic settings in a vivid palette of turquoise, coral, pink and mustard tones. The series includes detailed renderings of lounge seating, dining furniture, lighting schemes, cabinetry, a dressing table, a cocktail bar interior and a dramatic sweeping staircase, combining technical draughtsmanship with a highly decorative and atmospheric sensibility.


The works evoke the glamour and innovation of 1950s and 1960s Italian and French interior design, while retaining the immediacy of original presentation drawings. Each sheet is signed Anfossi and presented behind glass in simple black-painted wooden frames. Displayed together, the eight works create an impressive decorative ensemble; equally they can be hung individually or in smaller groupings. Watercolour and ink on paper.
