Item Details

A richly atmospheric French woodland landscape depicting a tranquil river or pond bordered by a winding path beneath tall trees.

Painted in expressive textured oils with confident palette knife and impasto brushwork, the composition captures beautiful reflections and filtered woodland light, creating a strong sense of depth and serenity.

Signed lower right, undeciphered.

Presented in a carved Montparnasse frame of the period with lovely patina complementing the tonal richness of the painting beautifully.

French School, circa first half 20th century.
